Back Problems

Ankylosing spondylitis is an inflammatory disease of the spine and it is characterized by pain and stiffness in the back. Physiotherapy is considered to be important in preventing spine stiffness. People with ankylosing spondylitis benefit from activities where the range of motion of the spine and muscle control of the back are emphasized.

It is important to remain active on your own initiative as well. Take care of your overall fitness by performing diverse activities. If impact sports such as running are too painful, try swimming, cross-country skiing, rowing, or biking.
